Bolust in Bohuslän to Strengthen Talent Attraction in Northern Bohuslän

Access to skilled talent is one of the most important conditions for business growth and the ongoing transition of the Fyrbodal region. To address this need, the municipalities of Sotenäs, Lysekil, Tanum, and Strömstad are launching the joint initiative Bolust in Bohuslän – an initiative designed to make it easier to discover the opportunities to work, live, and build a life in northern Bohuslän.

Together, the four municipalities form a functional labour market region with around 50,000 inhabitants, 8,000 businesses, and nearly 500 associations and community organisations. At the same time, unemployment is low and companies across a wide range of industries are looking for new talent.

The aim of Bolust in Bohuslän is to strengthen talent attraction and skills supply by showcasing northern Bohuslän as an attractive place to work and live. The region is already well known as a visitor destination, but through this joint initiative the municipalities also want to highlight the opportunities to live, work, and grow here all year round.

The initiative presents the region’s full offering – from career opportunities and companies in need of skilled employees to the qualities that make life here unique, including proximity to the sea and nature, a vibrant community life, diverse housing opportunities, and a strong sense of belonging.

The new website, bolust.nu, brings together information about job opportunities, housing, schools, education, and leisure activities. Its purpose is to lower the barriers for people considering a move to Bohuslän while creating better conditions for companies to find the talent they need.

For Business Region Väst, Bolust in Bohuslän is an example of how place attractiveness and talent attraction go hand in hand. When people see the opportunity to combine career opportunities with a high quality of life, the region’s ability to attract, retain, and develop the talent businesses need to grow and adapt is strengthened. This, in turn, enhances the competitiveness of both Fyrbodal and Western Sweden.

The initiative is funded by Fyrbodals kommunalförbund.
