The centre has evolved from the region’s strong seafood industry and plays a key role in the development of the Sotenäs Seafood Cluster – Sweden’s most comprehensive and circular seafood cluster. Here, large parts of the marine value chain come together, from fishing and processing to innovation, product development, and recycling.

Sotenäs is also home to Sweden’s only marine recycling centre, where discarded fishing gear, ghost nets, and marine waste are reused or recycled into new applications.
